Let me preface this with I enjoyed sitting in his class. But he is so incredibly disorganized. His quizzes are based on parts of the class that was barely touched on and question-wording was confusing. He does not communicate what is going on. His TA did not respond to a few of my emails. If you talk semi-frequently in his class he will adore you though, especially in the beginning few weeks.

The teacher is very disorganized and does not present good guidelines for assignments. Calls on students randomly and expects detailed expert answers. Expect students to fully understand and remember all specific details about the readings. Fails to let students know what is essential for readings and does not set up students for success.

I'm a senior and Professor England is easily one of the best teachers I've had at university. He's hilarious and makes every class interesting/easy to learn from. You do have to put in work to succeed but he is understanding with student needs and I've definitely found myself motivated to do well on his assignments (he gives you a lot of personal freedom). Can't hype this guy up enough, he is the real deal

England is the man. You will seriously learn a lot more than you plan to in this class, and his class material is kept interesting and relevant by talking about current events. You will have a great time in this class if you come to lecture and pay attention, which is also the best way to do well on the exams. Sometimes he'll even say "this will be a quiz question". He's genuinely exciting about teaching and interested in what his students think. He will often ask the class for their opinion. Answer him! It makes for a more interesting discussion.

Jonathan is an amazing professor. He's super personable, hilarious, and likes to make every class interesting. The class material is fascinating, and he teaches it in a way that keeps you engaged and actually makes you want to learn and retain the information. 4-6 easy quizzes, technically "required" readings, but you don't have to read (I never did), he doesn't test on the readings. Take this class, soooo worth it!

Johnathan is awesome. You'll be laughing in every class. There's not a lot of work involved. a midterm and final and 2 small reaction papers. He also gives out a few pop quizzes throughout the semester but they don't count as a significant portion of your grade. If you need an SH take this class!

i got stuck in this class and wasnt excited until i met the professor. he is a great teacher and a hilarious guy that actually manages to take a history related topic (AKA boring to the max) and make it fun and interesting. and as a bonus he does girl scout cookies for his daughter. THIN MINTS FOR THE WIN.
