Advanced Topics in Asian American Studies; South Asian American Intersectionalities and Solidarities

South Asian Americans - identity, agency, and racial formation. This course will critically examine South Asian Americans through a transnational framework to understand how the community has experienced and created racial identity in the United States, navigated otherness from assimilation to solidarity, and leveraged U.S. political systems to both advance and destabilize domestic social justice movements.
