Dr. Vk honestly isn't that bad. I will admit that a lot of the time, I had to go search for youtube videos to completely understand a subject, but after that, it made a lot of sense. You will have to go and do a little research on your own OR you can go to her office hours and ask about the parts you don't understand. I heard from a lot of people that she was mean, but I never got that vibe from her. Every time I asked for help she never had an attitude and was very understanding. I would say the one major downside is that when grading she is extremely detailed, just make sure that when answering questions you are detailed and demonstrate that you have a true understanding. A lot of people didn't take the chance to meet with Dr. Vk to see why they were getting points off, but I highly recommend that you do. Once I did, I understood what she was looking for and my grades never went back down to what they were before. Mondays are usually lectures, Wednesdays are group activities or lectures, and Fridays are drawings. There are quizzes every Friday, but they're fair, just review her slides for that week beforehand. This semester was the first semester she introduced group exams (3) before each individual exam (4, including the final). The group exams aren't weighed that much. The final exam is cumulative. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because sometimes I felt as though I had a really good understanding of the subject but it just wasn't enough for her, and that was really nerve-racking. |

Dr. VK is a great lecturer who cares about her students. That being said she really is a no bs professor, if you put in the work you'll do great and love her. If you don't put in effort for the assignments and drawings you will not learn. There's really only lecture once a week and this is a work heavy class: fair bit of readings (but you get used to it and know what to look for / what's important as the semester goes on), individual drawings/descriptions of physiology systems due weekly (usually take a few hours if you want full credit), and in class participation activities & drawings. If you put in the effort on these assignments you'll be perfectly ready for her tests and not need to study much (tests are fair, just long - barely any one finished on time for the first 2 midterms), she's also pretty linnet with regrades. I wasn't the biggest fan of her until the second midterm because I felt like all of the work was pointless, but then began to appreciate it more for the later exams and future applications. Summary: Don't judge her until later into the semester, put in the work in the beginning, heavy workloads on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights if you cram it. |

Dr VK was incredibly kind and understanding when it came to issues with the class or needing help with certain discussions or labs. Exams were difficult but fair if you reviewed lectures and paid attention during review and class assignments. |

Professor Orlando is engaging, funny and enjoyable. He wants you to understand and he tries hard to help you do so. He always seems happy and energetic. He is a great teacher and it's a really interesting class. |
