Matthew Thomann ANTH403 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/09/2023	This is the first time this class has been taught, so Dr. Thomann did change around the format throughout the semester, but he did so with lots of communication and care :) We switched to a circle discussion format halfway through that was my favorite. I think this also worked well due to how enthusiastic and kind my classmates were, but the professor had a part in this too. He didn't push when certain topics were sensitive, he valued everyone's opinions, and he was very clear and transparent about how the class was run. I don't think I've ever taken a non major related class here where there were absolutely no complaints about the class/professor until now. Dr. Thomann clearly cares about the class material and his students, and that's what made the class run so smoothly! Definitely would recommend, just be ready to read (the readings are mostly super interesting, but long, he doesn't quiz you on them or anything tho).
