Honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. So kind, so down-to-earth, handled every situation throughout the semester gracefully and with care. He made sure to create an environment where everyone felt safe and heard, which was super important since it was a discussion-based class for the most part. Really cool subject and even though the readings could be pretty heavy, he broke them down in a way that made sense to everyone. The workload is pretty standard for a 400-level class, fair amount of writing which is to be expected, and like I said lots of readings but the subject matter is interesting which makes them doable. My favorite class of the semester - I wish I could take it again. |

Super nice guy, great teacher and made the classes interesting. As an Anthroplogy major, I learnt a lot from his classes and would recommend this class to anyone interested in the general area of global health or Anthropology. Also, as someone with learning disabilities, I felt really accommodated and also that I could speak my mind in class. He creates a great learning environment where everyone participated a lot. There’s a decent amount of writing involved but it doesn’t take that much time. He also makes it clear how to do the essays so it’s straightforward. |

Loved his ANTH415 class. You actually get to learn stuff. Professor Thomann is really chill and relaxed and quite passionate about what he teaches. You would enjoy his class because he prefers more of communication that just bunch of assignments back-to-back. We did have an op-ed due every other week to make sure we were doing our readings |
