Human Biodiversity

Discussion of modern human origins and contemporary human variability; the nature and levels of human diversity; how natural selection modulates human differences and similarities; early studies of human variation and the concept of human biological race. The course emphasizes the genetic and non-genetic bases of human behavioral variation; the role of gender and human biodiversity; nDNA variation, ethnicity, and disease causation; morphometric and biochemical variation; and the re-conceptualization of human biodiversity.
