This class has literally 0 workload and I really appreciate it for that. There are 3 projects, 4 quizzes, a zillion "PackBacks", and 1 final exam and all are super easy and can be finished in one sitting. The projects are super simple (and have very vague instructions) and you can basically do whatever and get full credit with minimal effort. The quizzes are all online and like 10 questions that are basically trivial if you paid attention to the lectures and the final is 90% past quiz questions. That said, the "PackBacks" are the most annoying things on the planet and the only thing that dragged this class down for me. They're discussion-style assignments where you have to come up with an insightful question & respond to 2 other people but for some reason the amount of writing it takes to successfully write & answer questions is ridiculous. It's annoying and a waste of time, but there's only like 1 per week so definitely doable. It also costs $60 dollars.. Mandatory.. 10% of your grade.. Ughh.. Prof. Curtis is an engaging lecturer but I found his lectures so goddamn unstructured that I had no idea whether he was going on a tangent or actually covering class material. Studying for the quizzes is impossible and my final exam studying was just flashcarding the past quiz questions. Don't try to take notes because he says so much it's impossible to discern what is important & not, so you're better off just listening to the lecture and following along. That said, he's friendly and will answer literally any question you ask. Overall though both the Prof. and class can best be described as "vague," but I had a good time.

In general, this class isn't the worst, but it's definitely not my favorite elective I've taken. Going to class itself is really boring because Dr. Curtis just reads off of a paper, but he's a nice enough guy and he likes to talk to his students before class if you're open to having a conversation. Workload is pretty light, just three projects that aren't super difficult, although sometimes the instructions were a little weird so I recommend you get clarification on those. There are also 4 quizzes, one for each class module, which aren't bad at all because they are open note and unlimited time. You don't always have to go to class but there are graded guest lecturers sometimes that you have to go to. Overall it's pretty boring but not the worst and you'll probably get an A if you put in minimal effort.

Easy class, show up for like the first 6 lectures, make an impression and then dip out. His packback are literally counting for words, the projects are easy and the quizzes are all online. The final itself is the quizzes so just study those up and you should be fine. Be careful about the sylabus tho. There is a thing where if you miss 3 classes you can get kicked from the class but I know people that didn't attend more than 2 and should be fine.

class isnt bad but lectures are useless. he brings in some decent guest lecturers, 1-2 group presentations/writing assignments. Weekly AI-graded discussion posts based on readings, weekly quizzes on readings and lectures. posted slides are disorganized but manageable, no online resources for help
