I took this course thinking it would be great to have a LEED GA certification. I didn't know much about the course other than the title and explanation on Testudo. This course was extremely difficult, and a lot of it has to do with the professor. The entire course is structured to have guest speakers once a week who share their profession and some insights into different areas of LEED. The second class each week was discussions led by the TAs and the instructor. The TAs structured the classes in the first half of the semester to study for the LEED exam and helped with the research paper for the second half of the semester. My experience was much different since I had the professor as my TA. We did basically no exam prep and barely any paper review. Instead, we spent every discussion talking about the guest speakers and other news in the world of sustainability. Almost half the class failed the LEED GA exam and when asking the TAs about final exam prep, they basically said there's no point in studying since its so hard. I want to let everyone know that it will be much easier to take the GA exam outside of class. They don't offer any study material and urge everyone to buy their own. I suggest speaking to people who have taken it and asking for the GA prep textbook and search for Quizlets online. If you do take this class and get placed into Bennett's discussion do whatever you can to switch out of it! That will save you so much time and stress.

Very helpful and reassuring TA. Guided the students very well throughout the class and helped us all succeed.

Do not recommend taking it the final exam was based on extremely specific information that he did not suggest to study. The Leed exam was way easier which he did not write.

Professor Bennett is a sweet old man but can not teach this class to save his life. I think he lectured a total of 2 times and the rest were guest lecturers. I have no idea how to study for the final exam because there isn't any structure to the guest lecturers either, they usually come in to talk about their jobs for 50% of the presentation, not about the broader connections to architecture. If you want to take this class for the LEED Green Associate accreditation, don't. You had to take the LEED exam by the middle of October and honestly it isn't a hard exam to do, just do it on your own time.
