Selected Topics in Architecture; Building Abroad: Research & Practice

Building Abroad: Research & Practice explores Haitian culture and sustainable design in developing countries. Faculty and student participants will co-lead this seminar course. After identifying critical topics, students will research related issues and compile research into two presentations and a series of booklets which will be used as the basis of design for Roots Home & Abroads design in Haiti. The goals and strategies of the class will embody Root's mission to educate and empower communities, both home and abroad, to create a sustainable quality of life.
