ARHU158K Expecting an A Anonymous 12/10/2024 |
Professor Scott is a kind and slightly quirky instructor who genuinely cares about the topics she teaches. While I appreciated her approach, I did find the workload to be overwhelming at times (though some of it was required by the curriculum). From the second week until Thanksgiving, a group of students had to present once a week on assigned topics. There were also three papers throughout the course—while they were manageable, they were time-consuming and often felt somewhat unnecessary. On the positive side, we had some enjoyable field trips, including visits to a food garden, the Garden of Reflection and Remembrance, and the Guilford Forest, all of which were fun and engaging experiences. Each week, we had to answer a discussion post, but these were easy to complete and not too demanding. The final project was also enjoyable and allowed us to collaborate with a partner. One thing to note is that the grading can sometimes feel a bit nitpicky, but I’m still ending the course with an A. Despite feeling that some assignments were a bit much, the workload was manageable. Overall, Professor Scott is a good professor for this class and shows a genuine passion for the material she teaches. |
