Extremely boring material with over focus on one region...... With harsh graders. |

Easy class, only a couple writing assignments and and some discussion board posts. There was a midterm and final though which was weird for an Art history class but they were fairly easy. You do have to go to lecture and discussion because there are participation assignments but Professor Korobkin is very knowledgable and clearly very passionate about her subject. |

Absolute snooze fest with an over focus on North America. It would’ve been much better if the focus of monuments was more cosmopolitan as we barely touched outside Europe and North America. Also the 1st paper was a snooze fest and I hope they take that out of the curriculum. |

Art history, monuments, big monument, little monument, fake monument, online monument. Good class, easy stuff, many monument, many reading, fall sleep in class sometime. Good prof she chill TA chill too. Take for good free gen-ed. Interesting at times. Exams are bunch of essays. Guest speakers come they talk about more monument. Very much talk and write. Weekly discussion idk what for at times. Good class. |

Professor Korobkin is a nice person and seems very knowledgeable and passionate about art history however I took this class for a gen ed and it wasn't very interesting. The discussion is pretty unnecessary and you just end up doing busy work that doesn't even get submitted half the time. there were two short essays, a midterm, and a final. The final was all essays and felt like such a chore, it should have just been a final paper. Don't take this class unless you're interested in the topic. Its not a hard class just kind of boring and a chore to sit through. |

I loved Professor Korobkin, she's an amazing lecturer and brings super interesting insight to the monuments we learned about. This review is not relating to her per se but rather the course as a whole. Grading is reliant on your TA (which sucks). If your TA has high expectations, do not expect to well in this class. Also, if you're taking this as a gen ed there is a lot of material you need to know well - you need to be able to analyze works in addition to memorizing them, which is fine since they allow cheat sheets on the exam (which is very uncommon for art history classes) - but may be very tricky for some because you cannot simply copy and regurgitate information. Some of the rubrics are a little vague when you read them and my TA gave no feedback on any writing assignment - which was very disappointing. Same with the midterm. She said to make an appointment with her or go to her office hours and I really could not considering I commute and had class during her office hours. Also a nitpick but if you're an art history major/minor I would avoid this class mostly because it's a gen ed that covers a lot of different requirements people need. It seemed like the majority of the class were not art history majors (duh) and A LOT of them were super disrespectful during lecture - they would talk over Prof. Korobkin or complain about the class way too much (in the Groupme). I get that it's a more content heavy gen-ed but I don't see you all complaining as much about your engineering classes?? Like what? |

Prof. Korobkin is a great professor and lecturer. Assignments were easy and manageable; a 3-page paper, and then expanding that into a 5-page paper. The course material was genuinely interesting and made me want to come to lecture even though you really don't have to. The TAs Ashley and JooHee were great and truly cared about the material. There was even a meet up at a monument in DC. Highly recommend this class as a gen-ed and easy A. |

Amazing course and amazing professor. Actually takes into account student feedback and makes sure lectures are worth going to. |
