Really chill professor, super nice. Read off the slides, but would expand on the methodology behind the answers and explain a bit about real world practices for concepts, which was nice. 402 content can be pretty boring sometimes, but he tried his best! Overall I really liked him. |

Sometimes his lectures are boring but overall a good dude, wants to see you succeed. Every assignment and exam is pretty fair. |

Yunfei is a professor that genuinely wants you to learn and understand. He will always answer any question, no matter how 'dumb' it might be. He is very responsive and helpful as well as understanding. Great professor, I would take him again if I could! |

I would give him negative stars if I could. It is so hard to pay attention because the content is boring. To make it even worse, it is very difficult to understand what he's saying. I had to teach myself everything. If you can help it, take literally another other professor. |

He's an okay professor, sometimes a bit confusing when he's explaining a concept. This is mainly for his TA. She never greeted us in lab or walk us through the problems, and almost made me drop the class because of her mistake. |

He covered a lot of information in class and that would make it challenging to pay attention some times. About once a week, we had an in-class activity and he would basically give us the answers at the end of class. The labs were run by the TA and they were pretty straightforward. The lowest 2 labs/hws and lowest 2 activities were dropped. In total, there were only 2 homework assignments. He is such a kind and understanding professor. We were supposed to have lab once a week, but he canceled it on Halloween because he wanted us to have fun and be able to go to parties. He also made our midterm a take-home exam and was very generous when it came to grading it. Our final was open notes/class slides. It was pretty challenging, but he gave us a guide of what was going to be on it. I would recommend reviewing the concepts and making sure you have a good understanding of the them before the exam. Do not count on figuring it out while taking the exam. I definitely recommend taking him if you can :) |

He is a terrible person who doesn't care about his students, but he will force you to learn. Classes may or may not have clicker questions, which aren't gimme points, and you don't know when they are coming so you have to go to class so your grade doesn't drop. The material is overly confusing in the way he presents it. He has "any questions?" slides but he sprinted through the content that students don't know what to even ask about. There are so many practice problems, which help you learn the material. This class is extremely time consuming and every TA is given crazy rubrics. I haven't gotten 100 on an assignment since the first week of class and those were lockdown browser completion quizzes. And i have attended every class. Tje content is easyish, he is not. He is excited to be smarter than everyone else despite the fact that we are students and he's a professional. He makes his students feel bad about themselves and begrudgingly offers MINIMAL assistance. He does short answer quiz homeworks where you get a grade back but do not know what you got wrong and students average 40/100 on them routinely. Don't take him unless you are prepared to despise him and work hard. He genuinely does not care about his students. |

Prof Li would break down the material in a very detailed and easy to understand manner. He also provided many examples and exercises that were helpful to enhance my learning. I was so grateful for it. |

The set up of the course is very dependent on in class lectures/practice problems, and labs. The main way to succeed in this class is to show up and learn from the practice problems/quizzes while utilizing the Labs with the TA to ask questions. Professor Lee at times explains things poorly which causes students to lean towards teaching themselves in a way they understand. But Professor Lee isn’t one for surprises, everything you complete in the class is found somewhere in lecture slides, labs or quizzes. The resources are there, it just takes extra questions (either to the TA or in-class) to completely understand the material. The slides are at times confusing so clarifying questions are needed there as well. |

This professor was very chill and laid back. There are small weekly assignments and labs, a few homeworks, and a group project. Everything was manageable and easy to digest, however I was new to SQL/databases so it did take some time to learn everything but you can use your notes on everything. |

Class is a bit difficult but very helpful. Gujie’s always responsive to questions and emails. He prepares you well for quiz and exam, and helps you to succeed. But still have to work hard to get a good grade. |

He is a great professor and very well tenured/experienced in his field and studies. He is a bit hard to understand at times due to is accent but mostly if you're not paying attention. If you actually pay attention to his lectures you will have no problem. |

Defenitely not worth your time. Although every student gave bad reviews for his teaching, smith school of business doesn't give a damn about the feedback given by studnets. Instead we are being forced to have him again for big data course. |

Although there was a bit of a language barrier, the professor did his best to help us succeed and learn these topics. I would recommend studying outside of class because you wouldn't be able to understand it all during class. It is somewhat fast-paced, but assignments are not easy nor difficult. |

I learned so much from this professor, and the experience has been extremely valuable! The teaching style is more strict than what most are used to, but by doing so students are encouraged to solve their own problems and think through their own logic. The course is challenging and requires a significant time investment. The professor provides very clear notes that are available for reference at any time and many in-class practices, which are extremely helpful. Overall, I would say this is as close to a perfect introduction to coding as it gets. |

This class is demanding and will require you to work hard but if you put in the effort you should be fine. Make sure that you can complete all practice problems and hw/labs and you’ll be good for the exams. I personally enjoyed Dr. Bono’s teaching style because it was straightforward and clear. He is nice and is very knowledgeable about the course material—he’ll go out of his way to help you. TAs are also nice and they were fast to respond to my concerns/questions. |

This is my second class with him and I really love how he stops all the time to take questions and includes a lot of SQL coding that he types out with you. He seems like he cares if you're learning it. Would definitely take another class with him. |

Very strict and inflexible professor. Must attend all lectures, and no recordings available if missing one. Lots of work for the class and the grading is very picky. |

Easily one of the worst professors I have ever had. Little to no care for students and how they learn. The work needed to be completed for this course is illogical and the professor and TAs will not help you at all. Avoid, avoid, avoid. |

Professor Wang allotted a lot of class time for students to ask questions on anything and everything they may have been confused about. She was so open to answering questions and made everyone feel included. This made for a very comfortable classroom environment. Something that I really appreciated was the handouts we did in class. After learning the concepts, we would put them into practice using the handouts she created. These were helpful tools to study for quizzes, exams, and labs. |

Miss Wang is very knowledgeable and chill. She will try her best to help you understand the material, and you could enjoy learning SQL without concerning about your grade as much. However, you will still need to work on the assignment and understand the course lecture to get a good grade for the class. |

Lectures are a bit boring. Homework and labs will take you a while to do every week. No compassion for students, very cold personality. Lots of work for the class, a lab, and HW are due on Friday and Sunday at 8 PM, respectively. Each takes a couple of hours of effort. His teaching style was terrible; makes life difficult by not giving examples of practice questions in slide lectures and gives unannounced clicker quizzes. However, if you show up on time to every class you should get a 100. No practice exams and he never goes over your old assignments and is very nitpicky with his grading. TA's do all of his gradings and it takes weeks at a time. |

I loved professor's teaching style. He was able to break up the different topics some of which were pretty dry and make them feel relevant and important. The hands-on SQL work we did in the second half was the most beneficial and seems applicable to work after graduation. |
