This is a lab, so everything is led by the TA. The class itself is fine, but your grade is largely dependent on how strict your TA is an how good your groupmates are at reading instructions. The work itself wasn't super time-consuming, just a little useless. There are lots of opportunities to gain points back, but you tend to lose points for many small things on assignments. There were many instances in which I lost points for things that were never asked for in the assignment (for example, we lost points on our final research report for including the methods as a list instead of a paragraph, but this was never said in the instructions. In multiple instances, we lost points for not including a caption for a figure that never required on as part of the assignment). The points taken off were usually small, but it can add up. I never bothered to ague points, but you probably could. The class is easy, nothing you need to study for, but relies on a LOT of group work, which can be annoying if you get stuck with bad groupmates (I don't think you get a choice, but that was so early in the semester that I don't remember). Most of the lab is dry, often on computers or just analyzing images. |

Never saw the professor. Everything graded is done by your TA. I had a great TA, shoutout Joanne!! This class is lowkey really easy. The scariest thing is the lab practical which was only worth 10% of your grade. I could fail it and still get an A. Other than that, everything else is easy to do, though the presentation was a little scary because I don’t like presenting. But it was still pretty chill. But other than that, it’s an easy A. Pre-labs are easy and you get 2 attempts. Lab reports are straightforward and easy to do. |
