For BSST 334, honestly, this class was extremely annoying for an elective. The grading was way harsher than I expected and it made it feel like a lot more pain than it was worth. The assignments and weekly simulations were just confusing because we really didn’t get much guidance on how to tackle them. Plus, there was a ton of reading every week most of which I’ll admit I didn’t even do, but it was still a lot. On the bright side, the professor did end up dropping a couple of the case assignments toward the end of the semester. So in the end, that took a little pressure off, but overall, I’d say it’s not really worth the hassle unless you really want to challenge yourself or you have to.

I honestly think these reviews are harsh. The class is definitely a lot of notes, which are not fun, the exams do require effort, and there is a lot of work, but it is not hard. Professor Erdemandi is also super understanding, he dropped two of our case applications because people didn't do well, he made the final online because it was late during finals week, and is understanding about missing class. If there was a different review for TAs I may review differently, but Erdemandi as a professor is not bad.

Tough grader TA for BSST334. Unclear about expectations and doesn't help you improve.

I was looking forward to this class the most this semester, and it ended up being my least favorite. Prof and his TAs are extremely stingy with grading, and their expectations are inconsistent. He says he wants one thing, but once you do it, he says, "No that's not what we needed" without further explanation or clarification. In class, when no one participates, he gets aggravated, and it makes me even more uncomfortable and reluctant to share my thoughts. The simulations (discussion) are also unclear and would be so much more useful if they were synchronous so that we could have more guidance. I would not recommend this class unless you absolutely HAVE to and in that case...good luck.

Takes a month to get grades back even though with multiple TAs and grading is incredibly strict.

Honestly he is super understanding towards everyone. He dropped one of our case applications because people did bad and made another one optional. He also gives the opportunity for easy participation points. He also made our final online because its late in the final exam schedule. The class is A LOT of notes though its nonstop notes. Simulations are chill and easy. Class is only in person once a week other class is the simulation.

If there was a word to describe this class it is annoying. The TA's are some of the most unhelpful people to ever exist. Lectures are often boring; the simulations are also just as annoying. Because the paper that follows suit is single-spaced and lengthy, the group you are a apart of will more often than not do zero work. Strongly suggest taking this class with a group of friends because otherwise have fun. Otherwise, its an easy A if you do everything you're supposed to.

Super kind and thoughtful professor. He co-taught with Professor Winslette which was interesting. While she would go through lecture slides very quickly, Professor Lamb would tend to drag each slide out so that we did not finish the lecture in class time (no big because slides were posted). It was kinda funny just how opposite their lecture styles were, especially because when they lectured together, they converted to Professor Winslette's super quick lecture style. Professor Lamb and the TAs were in charge of the simulations and were very responsive to any issues surrounding that, and I would definitely take this class again!

Very kind professor and clearly very knowledgeable about this topic. She co-taught with Professor Lamb which was interesting. Her lecture style could use some work as she would go through 30 slides in 30 minutes (it was a 75 minute class) so it was very difficult to get everything during the lectures. Luckily slides were posted, but only after class so I wasn't able to download them ahead of time and just follow along. But the class itself was very enjoyable!
