This Professor was a nightmare to have. He yelled at students who didn’t understand the content when they asked questions in class. The class was afraid to even answer anything so he had to call on students almost every time. If you can, I would take any other available classes because this course was a nightmare.

This course consists of: weekly HW, individual assignments, pre-recorded lecture videos and quizzes, group project, final exam. Advantages of this course: The content of this course is really important for finance majors, especially in risk management. Once the course is over, and you worked hard to understand the material, you will have gained so much knowledge that you'll feel you have gotten the benefit for the money, effort, and time you spent on it. The recorded lecture videos, though very long, explain the concepts extremely well. The prof also repeats in class and explains really well, that its hard not to pay attention. The prof will fight to make sure everyone pays attention/understands what he is saying. The grading for the HW, individual assignment, group project, video quizzes, are all very lenient (graded on effort more than accuracy). The prof will provide summary notes, that help during finals. Disadvantages: This course was very time intense and heavy, it will take up the majority of your study time per term. This course is not recommended unless your schedule that term is light. The concepts are complicated to grasp, but the recorded videos really explain them well. It is mandatory to watch the videos, as the TA will keep track of weekly watch progress and deduct points when watched percentage is less than 90% per video. The prof will berate any student who does not watch videos, is not keeping up in class, on their phones, late to class.. etc. The 'berating' part of lecture is quite long, and take up so much of class time. He can be aggressive, yell at question, misinterpret answers. He will come up very close to students tables, almost knocking their stuff off, and get in their face about something or another. He can also be friendly, joke around, etc. He just gets angry when students don't understand despite his best efforts. HW assignments are very hard and time consuming (however, they are graded on effort only. As long as an attempt was made, a good grade is guaranteed). The final exam was hard, and graded on accuracy. The curve will basically be based on the final exam.

Professor is quite rude, very loud and makes sarcastic comments if a student doesn't know the topic or gets something right. This makes the class environment horrible as no one wants to speak as they do not want to get berated. He is not on the same wave length as his TA's. He does not grade his homework's for accuracy but for competition, while he isn't the only professor who does this but it is an extremely bad idea. Avoid if possible.
