Prerequisite: CCJS632. Restriction: Permission of BSOS-Criminology & Criminal Justice department. Law enforcement policy and practice is increasingly "evidence based." This course will focus on understanding data sources and the fundamentals of research methodology, focusing on how data and methodological choices shape the conclusions that can be drawn. At the end of this course, students will be able to discern between research of good and poor quality and understand the crucial benefits of evaluation.
