Mei Kong CHIN121 Expecting an A Anonymous 01/19/2026	Professor Kong might just be the sweetest professor in the university! It was the first year for the new class format for elementary Chinese (CHIN121 instead of 101), so she sometimes struggled a bit with course organization, but it wasn't that big of an issue. As someone with no prior experience in the language, the class itself wasn't that bad, if you did your work you were essentially guaranteed at least a B, though there was quite a bit of homework (about 3 hours a week?). She was very helpful, responding to emails often within the same day I sent them. She was very understanding and fair, so if you had a genuine reason to miss something she would accommodate, provided you tell her in advance, and you would get the credit you deserve on assignments. There was also a bit of really easy extra credit throughout the semester. Highly recommend!
