Belinda Qian He CINE429V Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/20/2024	Belinda is a very kind professor. She cares a lot about the students in the class and wants everyone to participate and be passionate about what we are discussing. She is also very accommodating to student needs. Sometimes the class felt unorganized and like it was unclear what our expectations were for assignments - the flexibility was good, but also sometimes led to some confusion. Belinda often brought in Chinese snacks which was nice. Overall, I would recommend this course if you are interested in Chinese cinema and culture even if you don't speak Chinese or know a lot about China. In CINE429V we watched a movie or series of videos each week. We had to do a weekly short post each week that included screenshots and reflections about the film we watched. All the films had English subtitles. In class, we would discuss what we watched and discuss its relation to Chinese culture, technology, and the world. In class each week we completed the "Poll Everywhere" which was essentially a website where we typed out our thoughts. I wish we had more in-class discussion, but overall it was pretty good. I would recommend CINE429V as an elective.
