CMSC829C
Advanced Topics in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology; Algorithms and Hardware Accelerators for Bioinformatics
This seminar course will cover fundamental and cutting-edge research papers on algorithms and hardware accelerators designed for bioinformatics. Papers will be selected from diverse fields such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, protein structure prediction, as well as emerging computing paradigms and hardware solutions for bioinformatics applications. Each student will select one of the suggested papers, present it, lead the subsequent discussion, and actively participate in discussions of other papers. The seminar is intended for graduate students in computer science and advanced undergraduate students with a strong research interest in bioinformatics.
