Daviana Fraser COMM360 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/22/2025	Very engaging professor. This class primarily consists of two group projects: a project where you find a historic speech and conduct research into its surrounding context, and a project where you create a hypothetical campaign again an issue faced by Black communities. I found these projects to be a bit tedious, but this is less a ding on the professor and more about me struggling to find groups to work on these projects in; I definitely suggest taking this course alongside a friend or two. Other than that, this class was very fun. There were weekly "reading" quizzes, but it wasn't all just reading: there were frequently videos to watch, and one week our assignment was just to listen through "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill". We also needed to write some blog posts, but these were graded fairly leniently, and Fraser is the kind of professor who really takes passion and effort into account when grading. I definitely recommend taking this course with Fraser if you're doing it for a major or a minor, and if you're at all interested in learning about everything from Sojourner Truth to Black Twitter.
Daviana Fraser COMM360 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/22/2025	This might be the best class I've taken at UMD. Daviana is AMAZING!!! She is so chill and down to earth and makes each class fun and entertaining! I feel like I learned so much from this class because of the way it was taught to me and her teaching style being super engaging and interesting. I went into this class not knowing what to expect whatsoever, and I left it feeling so impressed and overall glad I took it. There are easy 5 point in class activities which you should get full credit for. As well as reading quizzes and 3 check-in assessments where you evaluate how the class is going. As long as you try and put in effort on each assignment you will do well. The other important assignments are a Blog Space discussion board and two group-work major projects. Again, if you put in the work and she recognizes your effort you should do fine on each assignment. I was really shocked and impressed by this class and how much I ended up enjoying it, and a huge part of that was due to Daviana-- she is awesome and so passionate about the course material!! Definitely recommend taking this course either as an interesting elective or if needed for a major/minor requirement.
Alisa Hardy COMM360 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/15/2024	This class is awesome and Professor Hardy is great. She goes through the slides pretty fast, so be prepared to take notes kind of quickly, but also she posts the slides after so it's no big deal if you don't take notes. Two group projects, lots of reading quizzes, and a writing exercise in class to prove that you were there made this class manageable. I loved this class!
Alisa Hardy COMM360 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/10/2024	She is an extremely personable human being. I didn't really develop a relationship with her, but she is easily one of the most laid back teachers ever. If you need an extension, she gives you one no problem. If your grade is bad, you have 5+ opportunities of extra credit available. If you miss class, you can do as many make-up assignments as you want. The content is easily understood, the quizzes are based solely off the readings, and the class is interesting.
Daviana Fraser COMM360 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/09/2024	I LOOOOOVE DAVIANA!!!!!! Take her class, seriously. I learned so much and also had a lot of fun doing it. The assignments are super easy but actually get you to think about what you're reading and learning about. Cool projects (2 during the semester) and really interactive. I was nervous going into this class but Daviana makes the class feel safe and super fun. She is hilarious and super smart, and always up to date with pop culture which gets incorporated into the class! Take 360 with her!!!!!

Alisa Hardy COMM360 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 10/27/2022	Professor Hardy is so great. She has passion, enthusiasm, & compassion towards her students. Class structure is lecture with weekly quizzes & group projects. The weekly quizzes are very easy, either open note or in class where you're allowed to work with others. The group projects are the highest percentage of the final grade, but are no trouble. Come to class, work with your groups, & you will do well.
Darrian Carroll COMM360 Expecting an A Anonymous 08/04/2022	Great professor. He's 100% professional and a great lecturer. To get an A, you do need to show up and take notes, however, it isn't mandatory to do the homework reading as he will go over it. there were only four assignments the entire semester and basically no homework. If you take notes in class and show up, you'll get an A. I would recommend if your good about attendance, otherwise it may be a bit hard
