Ira Koretsky CPBE225 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/30/2025	I was given the warning that you will dislike him and the class at first, but will love it at the end. That was personally exactly what I experienced. He kind of picks on people so if you are terrified of speaking, don't raise you hand within the first couple of classes. Took 2024 fall and can't really remember anything specific he did or why I didn't like him in the beginning, but leaving the class I really really really loved him and his class. You will do much more speaking than a regular comms class, but you will actually learn in this one. He does a good job actually teaching, the word enhancer things seem stupid but are very applicable to everyday speech and actually useful. Grading is very transparent, speaking within the time limit is the huge thing. He also doesn't allow you to restart at all and it seems like he has no empathy but he did allow one person to take a breath outside of class and restart their ted talk. He does that to make you practice and learn but it's kind of brutal. There was also participation which he gave many more EASY opportunities towards the end, he also ig "curved" participation in my class because there were too many of us to have 5 chances each, i got 5/5 and really maybe did like 2 or 3. I already had good friends in the class, didn't mind public speaking and was still very nervous for each presentation, but you really get to know everyone in the class better through personal stories and class exercises. The relationships I made and skills I learned made this class so worth.
