Special Topics in Dance; Technology and the Performance of Motion

This course offers an introduction to the use of technology in dance performance, with a critical look at what technology contributes as a choreographic and expressive tool. Classes will include seminar-style classes, workshops, and mini-projects. Topics will include recording, streaming, and capturing motion, transforming the body, efforts towards posthumanism, and exploitations of spectacle. Students will also have an introduction to OBS software and TouchDesigner. No serious technical chops are required, just a willingness to move about!
