DATA350 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/13/2024 |
This isn't too bad of a class, and the homework is pretty easy to do. I will say he grades the midterm/final project a little bit harshly, so make sure to put some effort into it. He wants you to go more in-depth regarding statistics beyond visualization. It's helpful if you know concepts from STAT401/STAT430 (hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, etc.) Attendance is not required but for extra credit. There's also a midterm presentation that you can do for extra credit as well. He's a pretty chill professor overall. |

Imo super boring class, but a pretty easy A. No exams and all project and homework-based. There is a final project/presentation for the midterm & final which build off of each other, and it's really just a standard data science exploration project. Sometimes the assignments can be confusing or mistyped, but they're not that difficult if you dont slack off. I stopped going to lecture a quarter into the semester, but I managed to stay on top of the work because of the resources he provides (websites & books). Literally everything you'll be doing will be in R(Studio) and with ggplot2 for data visualization instead of Jupyter notebook/Google colab (pandas). Professor is a really chill guy, but I guarantee you'll find this as more busy work than anything else. |

Wonderful professor. He is a great lecturer and you will learn a lot in this class. He is also very helpful in office hours if you need help with R. Assignments can be tough but they are doable and the grading is pretty easy. |
