ECON465 Expecting an A- Anonymous 05/28/2025 |
The professor is clearly knowledgeable about any topic within economics. However, it can sometimes be a little difficult for undergrads to understand what he is saying. As for the structure of the class, you won’t know where your grade stands during the semester because Canvas is not updated properly. All assignments get emailed to the TA instead of being uploaded to Canvas. Lastly, sometimes his tangents are not related to the class at all. For instance, at the end of the first class he started preaching about how loving your child is not written in the Ten Commandments because it doesn’t need to be and that people should have children since that is the only time they will experience unconditional love. Pretty crazy to have that said in a lecture in 2025, but here we are. |

It's a mixed bag for me. Prof Galiani is a good lecturer in that he provides a lot of examples that go beyond just what the textbook says, though you can just read the textbook and learn the material just fine for any assignments and exams. The easy grading made up for the lack of opportunities to receive grades, but his participation grading might improve after this semester. The material is relatively interesting too and will probably be intuitive if you have a good grasp of microeconomic theory from intro and intermediate classes. My impression is that most people will get high grades and get through the class just fine. |
