Nicholas Montgomery ECON490 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 06/16/2020	I LOVED THIS CLASS! Not only was Professor Montgomery the best econ professor I've had so far, but I thought the content was very interesting and relevant. I still find ways to connect my life to the topics I learned in this class. His main assignment (a photo project) does a really good job of making you think about your own life experiences from an urban economic standpoint. As long as you show up to class, and show that you care about what you're learning about and not BSing the assignments, you will get a good grade! Overall a nice professor who cares about teaching.

Always talk to him before submitting something as he is happy to look over first drafts and provide feedback -- this will practically guarantee you an A with him.

Not only does he make class interesting and ties in the relevant required readings, but he provides substantial out-of-classroom learning opportunities. He cares about academic honesty more about harsh grades, which really promotes active learning and encourages further study beyond the scope of the course. He tied in theory and models to real life cities and easily kept students engaged. The course is not a walk-in-the-park, but if you put in the expected effort you will definitely get your expected grade.
