ECON698C

Selected Topics in Economics; Topics in Empirical Industrial Organization

This course discusses a number of methodological topics on the estimation of structural models, including entry games, matching games, endogenous product choice and dynamic games. The course compliments and builds on the methods and topics introduced in 625, drawing examples primarily from Industrial Organization and occasionally the structural labor literature. There will be two main sets of assignment, where students read in data or simulate data by solving models, estimate models based on simulation data and perform counterfactual analysis. The students will also be expected to submit a research proposal.
