ENAE464 Expecting a B Anonymous 05/17/2024 |
Look he's fine. He's grumpy all the time and doesn't like to have to repeat himself but as long as you listen to him and format everything the way he wants it, the labs are chill. No real need to go to the lectures other than to ask questions or sometimes get average values for calculations so you know you're in the right ballpark when doing the lab reports. No exams and the last lab is the last week of April so the end of the semester is pretty chill. |

Labs are fun in this class. Be prepared for his exams though. Throughout the semester it was nice to be in his class and not Sedwick's because labs were easier, but the grade distribution really changes that at the end of the year. |

For this class, ENAE464, I would recommend taking it over Dr. Winkelnmann. Dr. Yu is overall a good professor, and is very helpful during off-class hours if you have questions. The grading system (keeps the best 4 lab grades) allows you to skip doing labs during busy weeks, but I highly recommend you do as much as the early labs as possible to secure getting an A in the class. |

Always gives at least 1 student a D, even if graduating senior. Old, long-tenured professor who does not care about rules or policy. Decent teaching ability, but when you're looking for a 464 class, stay the hell away from his. Dr. Yu does not fail anyone, Dr. W is guaranteed to always fail at least one. |

Dr. Yu is a nice person, and will definitely help you if you need help. His lectures can get dry sometimes, but for ENAE464, the lecture material is important for the lab write-ups. The labs take a long time (on the order of 6-10 hours), so plan accordingly. If he gives you the option of choosing the best 4/8 labs, do the first 4 right away, because the last 4 tend to come all at once. |
