Topics in Electrical Engineering; Mathematical Methods in Electrical Engineering

Prerequisite: Completion of MATH241 with a "C-" or better; completion of all 200-level ENEE courses. A fundamental understanding of applied mathematical techniques that are essential for solving problems in various fields of electrical and computer engineering. The topics that will be covered are complex variables/analysis, linear algebra, Laplace and Fourier transforms, discrete math, and differential equations. The emphasis is on the application of these mathematical tools to problems that students encounter in the upper-division electrical and computer engineering courses. Computational tools such as Wolfram Alpha and MATLAB will be introduced.
