This teacher is understanding and really cares about each student being successful. The assignments are intriguing and nothing a typical college student cant manage. I can say she was the best professor I had the first semester and her class was something to look forward to.

Such a sweetheart and really cares about students. He was really accommodating. Gives very detailed feedback on essays. 201 only has 2 papers, great class to start as a beginner ENGL majors. Sometimes get sidetrack with details of stories in class, and the reading is a bit heavy.

I agree with Anon1. I thought Dr. Jones' class was interesting, since it was all about the Epic of Troy and I myself am interested in Greek mythology. He is not the most exciting professor in the world, but his lectures were generally fine. If you are interested in the subject matter and take the class seriously, you will not regret it.

I liked this teacher and thought the class was very interesting, but I can see where the other reviewers are coming from - he really doesn't explain what he wants from you. 40% of your grade is two essays and I think he spent two minutes total explaining what he wanted (but there was also a set of instructions). The final we had was 50% essay and when we asked how long or what he expected in this portion he just told us to use the time well. The reading amounts to about 7 hours a week and the daily quizzes can be tricky so you have to read carefully if you want an A. All that said, if you read carefully and know how to write an argumentative essay, you can definitely do well. If you don't, make use of online resources and the writing center and you should still do fine. You can get an A in this class if you want to.
