Randy Ontiveros ENGL358F Expecting an A Anonymous 11/20/2024	Dr. O is a fantastic professor that is truly passionate about what he does. He doesn't make you write papers, but there is weekly mini quizzes, a written midterm, and a verbal final exam. He doesn't assign a ton to read, and keeping up with them isn't difficult because he chooses really good texts that you WANT to read. BUT you really need to do the readings because he tends to cold call in class. Don't let the little things deter you from taking a class with him, he truly is a great instructor.
Randy Ontiveros ENGL358F Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/03/2024	Dr. Ontiveros is really passionate about literature and poetry, which is inspiring. He cares a lot about students reading the content, so there are weekly reading quizzes which are pretty simple. There are no long papers in this class, which was also relieving. If you make an effort to read and understand the content, you will do well. He does randomly call on people, but again this isn't an issue if you've read. He really just wants to make sure he's hearing from more than a handful of students, which I respect. I would definitely take another class with him.
