Joanna Goger ENSP330 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/18/2024	If you're interested in going into environmental law, this is one of the best classes to take at UMD. It covers environmental statutes and relevant court cases. It was also my first law-related class and helped me learn about the legal system and courts. This class is heavily weighed on exams, which you have to apply the court cases to different scenarios. There's also a Memo Assignment and a Debate project about an environmental issue. Professor Goger is extremely kind and helpful, and she's a fantastic resource for environmental law. She also brought in guest speakers throughout the year. It was engaging to attend class and listen to the lectures. Weekly assignments included case briefs, so there is a good amount of reading that goes into this class.
Joanna Goger ENSP330 Expecting a B Anonymous 12/15/2024	Professor Goger is very passionate about what she does and wants her students to succeed. She is so passionate about what she teaches she’s actually interesting to listen to because she’s not monotone and boring. She likes to challenge her students but if you try she won’t let you fail. I’ve had her for ENSP 102 and now ENSP 330 and I can say with confidence she is my favorite professor. Things I would rate her on: lectures: 4/5 She has slides but doesn’t only read off of them she always adds some extra info and also does class exercises so that we can interact with each other. Also some guest lectures to switch things up which was nice. She posts all her slides after class too. exams: 5/5 While the exams were challenging, she always made sure we had what we needed to do well. There was never anything on the exam that wasn’t covered in class, and she even throws out some hints during review, so just go to class and pay attention. Highly recommend prof Goger and this class!
Joanna Goger ENSP330 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/13/2024	Professor Goger is the best professor I have ever had. I've taken every class she teaches simply because it is her teaching. She can be a harsh grader and is not an easy A, but she genuinely cares about the development of her students. You really have to study for her exams, but the content is so interesting that I never took issue with it. If you can take a class with Goger, do it.

She's very fair about what she expects and while her tests are a lot of writing, if you show up to class and actually do the work and pay attention, you should do well. One of my favorite teachers and courses.

Professor goger is a fantastic teacher who really cares about policy and law. She's very fair about what she expects and while her tests are a lot of writing, if you show up to class and actually do the work and pay attention, you should do well. One of my favorite teachers and courses.
