This was hands-down the worst professor I have ever had. Her grading system was a mess. She didn’t grade anything until the very end of the semester, which left us completely in the dark about where we stood. On top of that, she came up with a ridiculous participation grading scale. For example, on the midterm, I received a very low participation grade because I participated 18 times, we didn't even have class that many times, and she didn't consider the many times i spoke in the zoom call, she only considered the participation over the chat. I went to her office hours and asked her about this and she said she made it like that because no one is supposed to get an 100% in the class since it is a humanities class or something. To make matters worse, I finished the class with a 93.63%, which is was 0.38 away from an A. I logged into almost every single lecture, did all of my work on time, got an A on pretty much every single assignment. I emailed her about it, hoping she could round it up or at least explain her reasoning. Despite claiming multiple times that she reads and responds to all emails, she didn’t even bother replying- extremely unprofessional. Her behavior in class was equally unprofessional. She spent an unreasonable amount of time talking about her personal life—details no one asked for or needed to know. She shared how she ran away from India, has a child with a white man, they are divorced are coparenting, is currently in another relationship, doesn’t believe in marriage, and even mentioned putting her son in dresses when they are in a safe space to “undo gender norms.” While good for her, so many of these things had nothing to do with the class and was inappropriate to discuss. She made political comments that were completely out of place in a classroom setting. She said she wished she had time to grieve after the election, which was incredibly inappropriate, especially knowing that not everyone in the class shared her political views. Professors should foster an inclusive and neutral environment—not alienate students with their personal opinions. Overall, this was a terrible experience. Her grading, communication, and professionalism were all severely lacking. I do not recommend her class at all, and i never write professor reviews but I thought that this professor deserves a warning.

Her class is easy however, she waits to put in all grades last minute and is terrible at responding to emails. You will not know what grade you are going to get in her class until the last day of the semester. Her workload is easy but she is extremely unorganized and half the time she doesn't know what she is talking about. She also brings politics into every lecture which is annoying. If you don't agree with her beliefs, she doesn't like you. For the final project we had to do, the directions were extremely unclear and she did not answer my questions in time. Overall, not a very good experience.

The class was fully online and asynchronous. I don't do too great with online courses, however the course was really easy and entertaining. It's great that you can mostly decide which assignments you want to do, and still get an A. The slides and book are quite a bit of material, but none of it was too heavy to understand. Prof Kilpatrick was very responsive, and he seems to enjoy teaching this subject. Do the assignments and start early on the final essay and you're golden!

The goat. Low workload and as long as you do the work you'll get an A. Does take attendance, but you don't have to pay attention in lecture, as there are no exams. Also a great guy. Highly recommend for an easy gen-ed/I-series.

This guy is awesome. He is super kind, and very communicative. His class is very manageable and easy to succeed in. Put effort forth (especially in the papers) and you'll be rewarded.

Professor Rodriguez is a super nice and approachable guy, he is easy to contact and helpful when you need it. You can definitely get away with missing his lectures, as they are mostly just a reading of Powerpoint slides that he posts on ELMS anyway. He assigns a lot of required readings but I don't think I read a single one, and I did well in his class. Definitely participate and don't be afraid to talk or ask questions, as there were a lot of awkward silences after he would ask a question. Overall, it's a cool and informative GenEd to take that requires little effort.

Prof. Matt is an extremely caring and nice person. There were a lot of guest speakers throughout the semester that were actually very interesting. I believe that Matt is somewhat new to teaching, if not entirely new to teaching his own class, and you could see that at times. A lot of classes were just reading off of slides, but I really can't complain too much about it as there was a system of showing what information was important for exams and what was more just extra learning. Matt is a really nice guy, lenient on grading, and is super open to talking to students if they want to talk to him. Overall a reasonably easy GenEd with a light amount of work, I'd just maybe suggest spicing up some of the non-guest lectures to be more engaging.
