Career Readiness

Career Readiness is an interactive strengths-based seminar for the FMSC major that focuses on getting a job or going on to graduate school. The course also supports the Learning Outcome of cultural competency in the workplace or academics. This course is intended to take students from deciding between employment or graduate school to getting the job or getting the acceptance letter, and all the steps in between, from job and program searches to cover letters to interviews. Class and small group discussions, activities, lectures, guest speakers, and practical assignments are designed specifically to foster and promote professional development and a better awareness of cultural competency.
