Amy Morgan FMSC340 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/04/2025	As a senior, I've had a lot of professors, and I am not even a Family Science major. And STILL Dr. Morgan has been my favorite professor in my years here at UMD. Please take this class. I cannot recommend it enough. Dr. Morgan is fantastic. She is witty, realistic, funny, knowledgable and professional all at the same time. The content is interesting, the assignments are fun and fair, there are no exams. Dr. Morgan is hands down THE most interesting and engaging lecturer I've ever had. A combination of facts and her personal anecdotes means that you will be genuinely engaged in lecture, especially when she splices in video clips and discussion to keep the content fresh. I am in a pre-health career pathway but I still found this content useful. Honestly, knowing what I know now, I still would've even taken this class for fun if my major was completely unrelated. It was that good. There are a few major assignments, none of which are quizzes or exams. The biggest one in my opinion is the paper: you get to choose a movie or show to analyze a character psychologically, but you can pick pretty much anything so it's a fun project. There is also a requirement to complete a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification course, which can ultimately then go on a resume, so really it's a bonus to be getting class credit for it as well. There is also a group project but it's super manageable and you have practically all semester to work on it. Take this course if you are looking for a charming and down-to-earth professor in a chill but interesting class environment. I wish I could take it again. Thank you Dr. Morgan for making my senior year even better!

I was having a horrible mental health week because of some family stuff and she granted me an extension and reached out with resources. She truly practices what she preaches and cares so much about students well-being. She is also super knowledgeable with what she teaches. she truly knows what she is talking about. She is a GEM. This class truly changed my life! I HIGHLY recommend you take it with Dr. Morgan.

As long as you do your work and show your respect by going to class and staying engaged you should be able to easily earn a good grade. 100% recommend.
Amy Morgan FMSC340 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/05/2022	Dr. Morgan is the best professor I have had. She focuses her class on actually learning instead of just trying to pass. There are no exams, just projects-- and they are all super interesting. She has the coolest stories based on her experiences in the mental health field. Can't recommend her or her classes enough!
