Suzanne Muir FMSC374 Expecting an A Anonymous 01/29/2026	Suzie Muir is one of the best professors I have had so far in my time at UMD. Her class was so fun and thought-provoking. She had us do such fun and unique assignments. In one class, we were able to write a poem about the black experience. It was awesome to do something different and creative in a college course. She is open to listening to the students' perspective. Gives great advice and is pushing us to be our best selves. Suzie is the best! Take one class with her if you want to meet someone who is fun and will give you a new perspective

Suzanne Muir FMSC374 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/26/2025	Dr.Muir is a very good teacher overall, in her class you just have to show up, participate, and you'll get a good grade. She's flexible with deadlines and will work with you as long as you communicate ahead of time, and in all she's a gem to have as a professor and talk to before or after class. She tells many interesting stories during the lecture that help make the content more digestible, and she really helped me through FMSC374.
Suzanne Muir FMSC374 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/25/2025	One of best professors..she made the course feel so easy and smooth .. she is passionate about what she teaches and that always pulls my attention and full interest .. her class was my favorite she is so funny and essay and willing to help all the time .. would say if you don’t like group based work or discussions then she is nit the right professor for you Overall would recommend her she is the best
Suzanne Muir FMSC374 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/24/2025	Dr.Muir is my favorite professor by far! The class was easy and didn’t have much homework. We had case studies, which were short projects and super easy! Also, we had a final paper as an exam. But no midterms or anything! I definitely recommend taking any class with Dr. Muir; her lectures are engaging, and I thought I wouldn’t learn much, but her lecture style and the way she connects things to personal life made the course enjoyable.
Rabiatu Barrie FMSC374 Expecting an A- Anonymous 12/08/2024	Dr. Barrie is a great professor who knows her stuff and is an excellent lecturer. Her class is engaging and straightforward, though you may have some uncomfortable conversations since you discuss many hot topics regarding race and ethnicity. Attendance is practically mandatory because she gives random in-class assignments. She doesn't assign much work, there are a few assignments throughout the semester, and a large group project at the end. She can be disorganized with Canvas and the syllabus, but overall, it is a great class.
Rabiatu Barrie FMSC374 Expecting an A Anonymous 11/24/2024	Dr. Barrie doesn't mess around, yet she is poised and a wonderful lecturer. Her class is interesting and engaging. She is incredibly smart and educated and overall, one of my favorite professors I've ever had. She makes you think critically and participate in class through group activities. You definitely have to come to class so if this is a class that's early and you may have trouble making it consistently, consider taking it another semester when it's offered at a different time. The writing assignments are reasonable and are some of my favorites I've done as a family science major. She does not give busy work. Her writing assignments are due at 4 am in case you need to write throughout the night. Take Dr. Barrie for any course if offered.
Rabiatu Barrie FMSC374 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/24/2024	Dr. Barrie is one of my favorite professors. Her lectures were incredibly interesting & we focused a lot on application of content. There are eight in-class assignments that are heavily weighted, especially because there's only three other assignments in the class. There is a group project but Dr. Barrie addresses all concerns with group projects and creates a plan if your group members are not meeting the expectations. Dr. Barrie talked to us like adults and provided real life examples on both class material and life skills. She is extremely knowledgeable & she applies knowledge from all subject areas. Would recommend 100%.
