Julie Silva GEOG332 Anonymous 12/17/2021	Dr. Silva is a good lecturer and a great person. Her lectures are engaging and she usually tries to get people involved in some discussion. I took both GEOG202 and GEOG332 with her and both classes are very reading heavy. The readings are pretty long and she usually just goes over them again in lecture. I wish she mixed in more facts/traditional teaching into her lectures rather than just repeating what we just read. GEOG332 is a little better than GEOG202 in this sense, 202 is pretty much just a book club. Exams and writing assignments are all about the right difficulty and fairly graded.

Julie Silva GEOG332 Expecting an A Anonymous 01/15/2021	Dr. Silva is without a doubt one of the best professors at UMD. She is very organized and knowledgeable. Other professors and instructors could stand to learn a lot from her. In geog 332, we used one textbook (available as a PDF online) and three short books, they were all purposeful and necessary for doing assignments.
