Special Topics in Geography; Mapping Maryland: Exploring State Data through Geospatial Tools

Introduces students to the wealth of geospatial data, interactive maps, and web-based tools available for the State of Maryland. Using hands-on activities, students will learn how to access, analyze, and visualize data to explore patterns in Maryland's complex ecological systems. Through real-world examples, the course highlights how these geospatial tools support evidence-based planning and decision making across multiple scales. No prior experience with GIS or mapping tools is required.
