Naijun Zhou GEOG473 Expecting an A Anonymous 06/17/2025	GEOG473 is not easy, but it is much easier than 373 because you will already have a background in GIS. Dr. Zhou is a great professor and his worksheets in 473 do a much better job of explaining concepts compared to 373. I feel like the projects I completed in this class really prepared me to work with GIS professionally, so definitely recommend taking it if you want to do that. It's very possible to get an A with completion grades for worksheets and his generous curve.
Naijun Zhou GEOG473 Expecting a B+ nthakur2 05/22/2023	The professor is knowledgeable in the coursework during the lecture sessions. Hard to understand what the professor says at times due to his accent. Graded by few things for the class. It is a good idea to go to all lecture and lab sessions since you get points for attendance. Homework assignments were annoying and difficult since a few of the assignments were written reports and the rest were either doing math and statistics. Did not learn too many new things on ArcGIS compared to GEOG373. Main topics about class focused more on math, equations, calculations, and statistics than GIS. Final exam was difficult. No practical exam. Overall, this class is more for people who did great in GEOG306 and like to do more math than GIS.
