Topical Investigations; Introduction to Geospatial Intelligence

Cross-listed with GEOG688F. Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) is the collection, analysis, visualization and dissemination of geospatial information to support decision-making. This course provides an introduction to the history of the GEOINT d iscipline, the intelligence applications of geospatial technologies, and the development of GEOINT products to support nationalsecurity and humanitarian missions. Topics include GIS, remote sensing, GPS, statistica l modeling and network science. Each class willbe comprised of both a lecture component and a lab component, and upon completion of the coursestudents will have built new technical skills and acquired new expertise about the GEOINT domain.
