Really nice professor and with her you WILL learn some German, that's for sure. I thought that this course held your hand a little less than it should have, but I have never taken any other language course here, so I am not sure how hand holdy it is meant to be. Simple administrative things felt like they were left unsaid, though, like I genuinely wasn't sure if the homework assignments on Connect (separate from Canvas) would be graded until like the last day of class. Small things like that created confusion in places there shouldn't have been simply because she focuses entirely on getting us to speak/write German for the entire class and mainly speaks in German (although her English is great). I didn't feel I had great study material before the final, but she does have office hours I never attended, because ofc I had another class at that time, so she may have offered better explanations and materials there.

I love Herr Jensen! Super friendly and down to earth. Also very accommodating for assignments. In class, we converse a lot with each other and quickly pick up on phrases. He truly wants his students to succeed by giving exam reviews and homework that involves listening, speaking, and writing. After lectures, he posts his slides so students can review any material. This course can seem challenging because you are learning a new language, however Herr Jensen makes it very easy to get immersed in the language. I would recommend this course to anyone if they are looking to take a fun class or trying something new!
