The content of the class itself was a little bit boring, but then again not sure how much power he has over that. Kind dude, anytime we saw each other outside of class, even if briefly he'd ask how I was doing, also pretty easy to schedule 1-on-1 time if you want a grade change or review & etc., most of the time he does bring it up. Also, rounded my A- (92.6) to an A (93). Didn't like how much of the grade was determined by two papers and two tests (midterm and final), there are quizzes that do pad your grade though. Overall as easy an A you can get in college; I only drop one star because I felt the TA had a bit too much power when it came to grading, and it was boring sometimes. |

I thought Professor W was great. He was very nice and had enthusiasm for the subject. He was also very helpful to the students, as he would answer questions timely, and he would always be available to answer questions during his office hours. I am not a government and politics major, or law, or anything like that, I only took this course because it was the Carillon class, and I only did that because I was promised free A.C. So, I can't really speak on how useful this class is for further learning, because I'll never have to take a class like this again, but I thought it was at the very least somewhat interesting. From the first day of class until midterms, you learn about the history of the supreme court and the constitution, and the reasons why the justices rule the way they do today. I found this part to be boring, but the midterm was super easy, you just had to memorize like 3-4 court cases. Then after the midterm, you actually go into the constitutional rights, where you will learn about 20ish different supreme court cases and why they are important today. So, the final was incredibly case heavy just a heads up. As far as the structure of the class, MW were lectures, where Professor W would just talk about the different cases, and then Friday was discussion. Now, my TA for my discussion class was very sweet, however I found the discussions to be incredibly useless. You would go to class and talk about an often times unrelated court case for about 30 minutes and we were free to leave. I never wanted to go, but we had a weekly quiz that was worth 20 percent of our grade, so I really had to go. Anyways, for the class you have a midterm and a final, and you and a small group are assigned a part in a mock oral argument near the end of the semester. The oral arguments were interesting, but not really hard at all you do not have to do that much work for them, especially if you are a justice, you just ask questions. You do have to write two 4–6-page papers about the cases on the mock oral argument docket, which were graded somewhat harshly, because I did not in text cite every single part of my background. Also, studying for this class is pretty much all on you. You are given the class slides, but they are incredibly vague and elaborated on during lecture, so take good notes on what he is saying, not what's on the slide. There is no review, not in lecture or discussion, so again, you have to figure out what you deem to be relevant. I felt my best bet was just to memorize all the court cases in the slides and it worked well enough, but honestly, I am not sure what else you can even do. Anyways this class is fine Professor W is nice, the class is a relatively easy A, you just have to learn the material on your own sometimes. |

Wohlfarth is an excellent professor, his lectures are very engaging and easy to follow. There were quizzes every week in discussion, which was annoying as it made attendance practically mandatory despite being otherwise useless, but the quizzes were easy and sometimes graded on completion. The mock oral argument project was very fun (although way easier if your get assigned to be a justice), but annoyingly consumed a large amount of time in lecture towards the end of the semester. The readings are almost entirely optional, I stopped reading them a few weeks in and was never tested directly on information from the reading. |

I was required to take this class, I had little knowledge of the Supreme Court, and lowkey hated this class, but I absolutely love him as a professor. He's very nice, and understanding, and he really wants everyone to get an A in his class. The TA is my only problem with this class as she graded everything so incredibly harsh it's crazy. However, you are able to appeal your grade, and he will look over your assignment, and most of the time he'll change it to a higher grade. |

I really like this guy. Every class puts a smile on my face. Sometimes his lectures are boring, but I am easily distracted on my laptop. The only reason I rated him low is because of the little work assigned ... SHOCKING, right? This sounds great, but it means that the majority of your grade is on MT/Final. Yes there are discussiomn quizzes that are pretty easy if you do the reading, but life gets busy and sometimes reading falls to the. wayside In short, Prof. W is a really great guy, engaging teaching, and the content, to me, was fascinating. Highly recommend, but make sure to read the assigned readings! |

Wohlfarth obviously cares about his students and is INCREADIBLY PASSIONATE about what he teaches. I loved his lectures, they were always very ENGAGING, my favorite class to attend. He connects the material in a way that makes it relevant to your life. I took "Government or Politics" for my Carillion Class, I think it's the best Carillion class they offer! The only down side is the TOUGH GRADING. The TA we had make it nearly impossible to get a high A on any of the assignments. We had very few graded assignments so this made getting a full A difficult. Overall would recommend his classes!! |

I was required to take this class as part of Carillon Communities, but it wasn’t too bad. Professor Wohlfarth genuinely cares about his students and the material, which makes the content somewhat interesting—even if you’re not particularly interested in the Supreme Court. He is very knowledgeable and occasionally cracks jokes to keep things engaging. Most classes are spent with him lecturing through slides, but his enthusiasm makes the lectures bearable. The coursework includes two 4-page essays on relevant Supreme Court cases, a midterm, a final, a live oral argument where you and a group argue a case in front of the class, and weekly discussion quizzes. The quizzes are based on that week’s content, and while most are graded for completion, a few are actually graded based on the content of your asnwer. Overall, because there isn’t much-submitted work, I found the grading to be somewhat harsh, and the syllabus could feel a bit vague at times. However, Professor Wohlfarth and the TA are approachable and always willing to provide clarification if needed. |

Very interesting class. Quite a bit of reading and you need to actually do them in order to get a good grade on the weekly quizzes. I worked hard for my grade. |

Such an interesting class to take if you want to learn more about the Supreme Court. It does cover a lot of content though, so if you aren't interested in the course material I would not recommend taking it. There are 5 pop quizzes throughout the semester so you have to go to discussion. Exams are fair and there was extra credit offered in the midterm. |

I loved this class and this professor. Wohlfarth is very passionate about the government which makes this class more interesting. If you are interested the U.S. Supreme Court you would love this class. The class focuses on the current Supreme Court and current court cases. This class does have pop quizzes during discussion however I found them easy if you just re read your notes. |

Great lecturer and 202 is a great class. Dr. Wohlfarth knows what he is talking about, is a fantastic lecturer, and is always willing to answer questions. He assigns a reasonable amount of readings and doesn't give reading quizzes. The 4 quizzes were pretty easy and you have plenty of time to work on the papers. The midterm was a little more difficult than expected but straightforward and focused on lecture material. Dr. Wohlfarth lets you know exactly what he is expecting and doesn't throw any curveballs. GVPT 202 is one of the best classes I've taken. Highly recommend. |
