Virginia Haufler GVPT206 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/03/2025	Took this class last fall to fulfill a gen ed requirement because I switched classes at the beginning of the semester last minute. I am also someone who is majoring within the STEM field, so this class was completely unrelated to my field of "expertise". But it was pretty good! Yeah people complained about class being boring sometimes, but I found it interesting as someone who only does a bunch of science classes, and many people who take this class are 99% a government and politics major so maybe that's why some found it to be repetitive. Discussions were interesting too, and my TA was great. There was 3 extra credit chances provided and I did them all. Exams allowed a double sided page of notes, and there was a study guide that contained literally EVERYTHING on the exam, so you could easily fit everything onto the paper. Perusall readings could be a little bothersome at times, but I feel like every class has some little annoying thing about them. Professor Haufler is also the sweetest ever, and she sometimes gave out treats in class. Ended up with an A+ in the class despite having little knowledge in government and politics (I was taking 4 other classes on top of this for reference). It's a nice class to take if you want to expand your scope of knowledge to something other than the things you major in.
Virginia Haufler GVPT206 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/16/2024	I'll be honest about her, I only took her class to fulfill my gen ed minor for the GTSM minor. Class was extremely boring, often found myself either not going to class or doing other classwork in her class. With that being said the material is super easy to digest and understand. All of it connects to one another. The Perusall readings are extremely annoying be prepared. Otherwise it was not the worst class I have taken so I'd recommend it.

As a person she's very kind and very understanding, as a professor, she does read off the slides but she does at times thruout lecture go off for good examples, I'm a gvpt major and please take this class for spring!! Would usually come to only monday lectures and barely went to disscusion as she posts the notes online but most of the people I know in this class got a B- and maybe B+ as the highest
Virginia Haufler GVPT206 Expecting a B Anonymous 05/15/2023	shes so nice ! easy class (barely came maybe like 10 times in total ) and passed with a 84% and pretty good topics, midterm was kinda hard but thats on me for not taking notes ngl, no final but a group project, overall chill teacher and class
