Ilai Saltzman GVPT368D Expecting a B Anonymous 12/19/2023	Saltzman is a mediocre lecturer who thinks he is a funny and witty guy. It's a seminar course about Israel and very shallow in depth. Attendance is required and you are assigned ton of stupid and useless reading which aren't graded. Grading is arbitrary and he provides zero rubric to follow. I took this class for credit thinking it's an easy A. It's okay if you put effort in it like any other normal classes, just not worth for what this class is (3 cr for ISRL or GVPT). But lecture and reading were completely useless to do any graded assignments. Would not recommend.
Ilai Saltzman GVPT368D Expecting an A- Anonymous 12/11/2023	Professor Saltzman is cheesy and not nuanced whatsoever. He didn't provide and pushback on either side of the political spectrum. Coming from a background where I've learned about Israel, I didn't learn much from his classes. I zoned out almost every class and just went on my computer and was still able to complete the assignments. He repeats himself a lot. He's also kind of creepy - he smiles weirdly and I've felt uncomfortable numerous times. I've taken classes like his before with way better professors. Ultimately, would not recommend.
Ilai Saltzman GVPT368D Expecting an A Anonymous 12/13/2022	Professor is great. He is very engaging, funny, and good at explaining things. Just make sure to follow all of the instructions for each assignment in order to secure a good grade. He also cold calls occasionally so be prepared for that, but it is very low pressure. It is clear that he wants everyone to succeed and he will stop at nothing to make that happen.

You definitely need to try to receive an A in the class, however he is very lively and truly gets to know his students. I would absolutely take another class with him. He truly cares about his students as well, and is very approachable.

Ilai Saltzman GVPT368D Expecting an A- Anonymous 12/19/2021	He's a great professor and tries to keep the class engaged during lectures. He does a great job presenting the lecture material and as long as you do the assignments on time, you should get a good grade.

Ilai Saltzman GVPT368D Expecting an A Anonymous 05/10/2021	Very personable and engaging. Is a little tough on grading but not too bad. He tries to make a personal connection with the students and engage them in class.
