Ting Zhang HIST382 Expecting an A Anonymous 01/05/2026	Prof. Zhang is one of the most well-versed and approachable professors I've ever had. She has great insight into many subjects both inside and out of the course material, and she is very enthusiastic about sharing what she knows. She makes the large amount of information accessible to students, regardless of if they have any background knowledge on East Asian history beforehand. She accepts all questions without judgment. The reading is a lot of work, but you do not necessarily need to be an expert on it to succeed in the discussions. As long as you have a general idea about what each source says and who the author is, you will be able to get through them. The assignments themselves are very light, and she grades easily. As long as you meet the requirements for the papers and talk two or three times per discussion section, you will do great in this class.
