She seems very passionate and kind. The content was also really interesting. There were a few papers to write and a presentation at the end but it's nothing too difficult. You discuss your grade at the end which is chill. Great professor

One of my favorite classes this semester. As someone who is not into Art History at all, I became interested after this class. Basically, every MW you attend a lecture and you learn about various medical illustrations/anatomical drawings/art history and you tie it back into a social, political, and cultural context. At the very beginning, I could barely describe an illustration/piece of artwork even as fraction as in-depth as Dr. McBryde, however, by the end I definitely improved. Every Wednesday you would submit a course log in which you could copy or write your notes in, it is just a proof that you were attentive and that you were in class, its more of a marker of what you did each week. There are 3 process essays in which you compare 2 images and the final process essay you describe your experience in the class and your experience completing the final project. In the final project, you basically apply all the skills you learn throughout the semester by yourself. You choose an anatomical object/drawing and you write about it and present it. You have to complete an essay about it and present a presentation in front of the class. Both were genuinely super interesting and fun to do though. Additonally there are no grades in this class. In the Final Process Essay, you argue why you deserve the grade you want. At the very end of the semester, you set up a meeting with Dr. McBryde to discuss the grade you want and she will either approve it or not (she most likely will approve the A lol). Overall, an amazing professor, one of my favorites, and a fun, engaging class.

Dr. McBryde is actually the goat. She really cares about the subject matter, and she doesn't really force engagement out of her students. I didn't do all of the readings because no one really does, but I still feel like I was able to walk away with knowledge, even though I didn't know I was signing up for an art history course.

She was a very nice professor and gave useful feedback on our assignments. Some people say she’s passive aggressive but I disagree, it’s probably different for everyone. The class had a lot of long readings that you are expected to read before every class so that you guys can talk about it in class, however, I never read a single reading and was able to breeze by. Class time mostly consists of us sitting and listen to her talk the whole time and watch her slideshows. Sometimes the content was interesting. And sometimes we would get into small groups or partners to talk about a reading but it was rare. No actual grades for this class. Just do all your assignments and put in some effort and if she can tell you’re putting in work, you’ll get an A I recommend this class if you want an easy A

Nice professor that cares about you're learning. The readings are really long and pointless so I never read any of them. The inclass disussions aren't even discussions; they are just listening to her talk about stuff. The final project is really easy but annoying because you have to go to a random museum on a friday. Overall, the class is really easy but sometimes a hassle because it feels like a waste of time
