This class was great because it did not involve a lot of work. You have two 5-6 page papers and a 12 page final paper. All the "research" you need to do is go on Blackboard and use the articles provided. He is a really easy grader, and the content is pretty interesting as well. I strongly recommend this course

The bulk of your grade is two 5 page essays and a 12 page term paper. As long as you pick the right topic (IE one that was discussed in class and has articles on ELMS) you have to do no outside research. The grading seems to be more of a completion grade than anything else, if you follow the format and write coherently, you get an A. The remainder of your grade is two in class presentations of an assigned article. Although sometimes the articles are very lengthly (50+ pages) he only expects you to summarize main points and talk for about ten minutes. This class is great for anyone who has an intrest in technology and history.

Highly knowledgeable, very intelligent, and very patient professor. Class discussion (a must, he says) grows dull after a short time. An easy A. Class required two papers (5-6 pages), two ten-minute oral reports, and a final paper (10-12 pages). As long as you complete the work, you will get an A. The reports are purely research based, and the professor supplies plenty of sources online, so class discussion is rendered irrelevant with respect to your grade. Unfortunately, he has the decency to learn all the members of the class by name and face almost immediately, and the seminar format of the class makes it exceedingly rude to stop attending class for any large stretch of time. Professor Sullivan is a great, engaging guy and is quite clearly highly regarded in his field.
