Caro is a great professor and created a great classroom environment/culture for Game Design. I enjoyed coming to her class each day as someone interested in games and game development. The class includes aspects of tabletop game design, cards, actual video games (if interested, not forced), and other relatively peculiar ways of creating games. The activities and assignments include a lot of group work and may have you creating games to play outdoors or reimagining an already created game into your own product. The only problem I had with the course was the grading system was honestly overcomplicated and should be reduced to a regular grading system. There's a thing with certain professors especially within INFO where they like to try different grading systems to give students options in how they approach the course but it overall feels empty and not very helpful compared to regularly graded assignments. I also would include more content to better inspire cool games created that can be put on a portfolio as there is some time spent on creating a portfolio during the later stage of the class. Overall, the class was good and I would take it again with a few updates.
