It's media law. It's going to be boring almost regardless of who teaches it. Nelson tries (perhaps a little too hard) to make it engaging, to the point that it often felt like a high school class. But the class is surprisingly not that bad. Nelson doesn't teach some things that might be important (as in, how to read a legal opinion), but there are enough assignments (all open note tests or projects) that it's relatively easy to pull an A. |

Ms. Nelson is da bomb. She always tries to make the class a little more interesting. I fell asleep a couple of times but not as much as I thought I would concerning this is media law. I liked that she had us try and argue cases as a group occasionally. She's nice but keeps it real. She loves participation, so make sure you speak up in class! |

She is a harsh grader, but not unfair. Exams are open note, so if you do poorly it is your fault (as I sadly found out). She is a nice person and wants you to do well, she gives a lot of hints about what will be on exams. She is also a badass and has many exciting stories about her investigative journalism days. |
