She is a great lecturer, makes a class that seemed like it might be boring interesting. Also the class is really not that much work, there are exams, but you can bring a note sheet so as long as you make a thorough note sheet you're fine.

Professor Banisky is absolutely amazing-- truly one of those professors that makes class so engaging and interesting. The class is discussion-based, and she fosters a wonderful environment where I felt comfortable contributing at any time. She's very witty and always has fun stories from her career that apply to class materials. She's also very understanding and easy to communicate with. The materials she provides are sufficient to learn and succeed in the class. I'd recommend her to anyone.

I took this in the Spring of 2020, classes went all online mid-semester, I was lucky. This class was *still* a mess with him, even though he was more generous because of the circumstances. Even now, his Fall 2020 students are still struggling with unfairly graded assignments and unnecessarily long-winded lectures. A lot of your grade will come down to a very difficult law exam and a FOIA project that could be easy or hard depending on what data you need to get (changes every semester) and which city you're assigned to collect from (given randomly to different students). Big cities are generally easier, but if you're given a small town in the middle of nowhere, it'll be much harder. Avoid taking this class with Summers. Seriously, do not put yourself through it. Rearrange your schedule if need be to take it with someone else.

Worst class I've ever taken. Didn't get a course schedule until week 5. Completely unorganized and takes forever to grade. Exams and quizzes are extremely difficult for no reason. Tends to repeat himself in five different ways and spends an hour "housekeeping" every class.
