Dr. Kiemel is a nice person, but I found his lectures to be a little boring and also confusing? I have a very specific learning style (and processing method) so his lecture slides were hard to digest without watching the lecture recordings and just based on the slides alone. It's a lot of bullet points but formatted in the way that a student would have in their notes (some words omitted which leaves certain sentences up to interpretation). There were also a lot of figures/visuals that, like I said, aren't easy to digest without watching the recording or paying attention in lecture. The videos he attaches also don't work on ELMS, but maybe if you download the slides they will. He has weekly quizzes on ELMS that you have two attempts on. The discussion is fine as well, and usually don't last for more than 30 minutes. There are assignments for discussion but they should be fairly straightforward. Exams are 25 questions multiple choice, and the final is 50 questions m/c. Overall I don't think his teaching style really fits my learning style, but the content should be simple enough to grasp even if you do not major in kinesiology like me. |

Dr. Kiemel is great. Very passionate about the content. His exams are easy 25 question multiple choice. There are weekly online quizzes with content pulled directly from lecture. He does in-lecture quizzes for participation that if you do them you get extra credit. If you miss lecture you can still make up the in-class quizzes afterward. The most annoying part was the weekly discussion assignments which were easy but one or two of them were pretty long. His grading method is super weird. But other than that this class is great |

I love Dr.Kiemel, he does read right off the slide but you can tell he loves teaching. He looks for engagement but half of the class isn't usually paying attention. This course was super manageable as long as you pay attention and do the practice quizzes before midterms and finals. The multiple choice on the practice quizzes are the same as the midterm with some wording changes so the answers aren't the same. Attendance isn't mandatory but he has extra credit opportunities to add to your final each class so I recommend attending. |

Great prof, easy class. A nice guy and explains the content clearly. The class is very structured, being pretty much the same thing week after week. You can have fun with the homework exercises and the homework quizzes are easy, as well as the midterms. Both all multiple choice, covering the main topics of the course. |

Good professor, easy to understand and class is very structured, if you show up and do the work you should do well. |

this was a TA for knes226, honestly really nitpicky when grading your work, you're likely still to pass the assignments, but he would show up late, nitpick your work for small errors |

course is structured so you pass if you put little effort. It's challenging for an A or better. weekly discussions require you to present to the class biweekly which can be a hassle at times, the lectures can be really dry depending on the topic. For an A you must pass 10/12 quizzes, 5/6 present, and 90%+ avg on all 3 exams (2 exams being 25q and final being 50), finals cumulative and the final tries to trick you a good amount. The TA can be a bit harsh on grading weekly discussion assignments, but you'll still pass if you put in some effort, they're just nitpicky |

KNES226 Expecting a B Anonymous 05/16/2022 |
He's a nice guy class is pretty straightforward. You can fail all the exams and still get a B in the class. I took this for the gen ed and didn't really put much effort into it and still pulled a B. If you put any effort into the class you can easily get an A. As a teacher, he's kinda boring since he basically reads off slides, which kinda made it hard to go to lectures. I would recommend this class though for easy an gen ed. |

The way that Dr. Kiemel grades the class makes it impossible to get lower than a B in the class if you just do the work. If you put a little effort into studying for the exams, an A is super attainable in this class. Overall, the lectures are boring, but I would highly recommend this class if you want an easy A. |

The class is pretty average. He reads right off the power points and goes through the slides so fast it's hard to write notes. But he posts the power points after class, which was helpful. The exercises are pretty easy, and we get to take our quizzes twice, which is nice. |
